In accordance with the unified arrangements of the University Party Committee, the 2025 Democratic Life Meeting of the BNUBS leadership team was held in Conference Room 1610, Houzhu Building on the morning of January 12, 2026. All members of the School leadership team attended the meeting, while Ren Yacai, Associate Director of the Ideological and Political Division of the Department of Student Affairs and a member of the supervision group for the Democratic Life Meeting, was present as an observer for guidance. The meeting was chaired by Sun Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Committee of BNUBS.

The theme of this meeting was to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and fully implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. With the determination and perseverance to fight a protracted and decisive battle, the meeting aimed to unremittingly implement the spirit of the Eight-Point Regulation of the Central Government, promote the normalization and long-term effectiveness of work style construction, and gather strength and work in a down-to-earth manner with a fine work style to strive for a new situation in advancing the construction of Chinese-style modernization.

At the meeting, Sun Zhijun first reported on the rectification and improvement results of the in-depth study and education activities on implementing the spirit of the Eight-Point Regulation of the Central Government, the implementation of rectification measures from the 2024 Democratic Life Meeting, and the opinions collected for this meeting. On behalf of the School leadership team, he delivered a self-examination report. Based on the actual work of the School, he conducted an in-depth investigation into prominent issues from five aspects: taking the lead in strengthening political loyalty and improving political capabilities; taking the lead in consolidating the foundation and enhancing Party spirit; taking the lead in holding in awe the people, the Party organizations and the laws and disciplines; taking the lead in forging ahead with entrepreneurship and assuming responsibilities; and taking the lead in resolutely shouldering the main responsibility for exercising strict Party self-governance. He conducted an in-depth analysis of the ideological roots, carried out warning education with negative typical cases, and clarified targeted rectification directions.

Members of the leadership team took turns to deliver individual self-examination speeches. They briefly reported on their learning and discussion activities since 2025 and shared their learning gains. Centering on the above five aspects, they reflected on themselves, their job responsibilities and work performance, and earnestly identified their own gaps and deficiencies. During the speeches, adhering to a highly responsible attitude towards the cause and their colleagues, the team members sought truth from facts and spoke openly and sincerely. They not only pointed out the crux of the problems but also put forward improvement suggestions, effectively achieving the goals of unifying ideas, enhancing unity and improving work.

In his concluding speech, Sun Zhijun stated that taking this Democratic Life Meeting as an opportunity, the School leadership team would continue to arm their minds with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, improve the long-term mechanism of shaping the soul, enhancing wisdom, rectifying work style and promoting work through learning, inherit the fine work style of unity and cooperation, putting public interests first, fairness and justice, and openness and transparency, and strive to write a new chapter in the development of the School.
