BNUBS Claimed 4th Place in Group A and Won Top 10 Team Award — Faculty and Students Shined at 2026 University Sports Meet

The 2026 Sports Meet of Beijing Normal University was held on April 25 and 26, themed Sports Integrated with Education: Cultivating Talents with Fitness as the Priority. The whole campus was filled with a vibrant sporting atmosphere. A total of 26 faculty members from Beijing Normal University Business School (BNUBS) signed up for various events. Sun Zhijun, Party Secretary, and Wang Jun, Associate Party Secretary, attended the opening and closing ceremonies. All participants competed with great enthusiasm, demonstrating the vitality and fine demeanor of the BNUBS community.

 

During the parade of entries, three teachers Wang Jun, Xu Kaige and Duan Lingzhi marched forward holding the BNU sign. The school mascot "Little Nuomi" appeared in the formation and greeted the rostrum. Students holding pom-poms lined up to form the letters "ECO", stepping in neat formation with high spirits. Their orderly procession and loud slogans became a highlight of the parade, fully embodying the school’s positive spirit and teamwork.

 

 

 

 

On the field, all athletes gave their all in team and individual events and achieved impressive results.

In the faculty-student team event Progress Hand in Hand, Associate Dean Zhou Jianghua and counselor Xu Kaige delivered excellent coordination with student partners and secured the third place.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In student team competitions, our contestants claimed first place in table tennis, second place in the 40m ball relay and Tai Chi contest, and third place in the 36-person tornado relay as well as the seedling transplanting and harvesting event. They took fourth place in the men's 4×100m relay, 10m obstacle course, 20m frog jump relay and group dance, fifth place in the women's 4×100m relay and one-minute sit-ups, sixth place in shot put, volleyball volley and dig, and one-minute pull-ups, seventh place in group aerobics, one-minute push-ups and badminton, and eighth place in the 3v3 basketball game and team cooperation challenge. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In individual events, Cheng Siyuan secured the championship in the women's long jump and finished third in the women's 100m sprint. Hou Yutong and Xu Haoran both ranked fourth in the women's and men's 400m sprint respectively. Hu Shizhiming came seventh in the men's high jump, while Huang Hanqing took eighth place in the men's 800m sprint. In the women's shot put for undergraduate Group A, Yan Jing and Hu Yi finished ninth and tenth respectively.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After two days of fierce competition, the sports meet concluded successfully. BNUBS ranked 4th in Group A, and was awarded the Top 10 Outstanding Team Award and Excellent Physical Fitness Award. These remarkable achievements are the fruits of joint efforts by all participating faculty and students, reflecting the solidarity and perseverance of the whole School. The event was not only a contest of athletic skills, but also a showcase of team cohesion. The passion and teamwork displayed on the field will become precious memories, inspiring everyone to stay energetic and forge ahead in future study and work.
